Billabong ISA World Surfing Games 2009

For the first time in over three years the Bahamian Surf Team was able to compete internationally at the ISA (International Surfing Association) World Games in Playa Hermosa, Costa Rica. While sponsorship from local establishments, through BASA, helped, each team member had to pay the majority of their way. This shows the level of dedication our surfers have and with a little support we will be able to continue sending our team to competitions in the coming seasons. With surfing on the brink of becoming an Olympic sport, and the ISA already working in conjunction with the International Olympic Committee (IOC), we are hoping to catch the attention of the Bahamian Governement, and hopefully gain some support.

FALL 2009 'COLD WATER' CLASSIC 1ST IN SERIES OF 3

In November we held the first offical contest of the 2009-2010 winter season. We had a tremendous turn out from surfers and supporters alike. After more than a week of epic swell and fantastic conditions, much credit should be given to all those who took part for persevering and putting on a great show.
