goals

Local Surf Contests - We held the first of three 'Cold Water' Classic events here on Elbow Cay on the 15th of November and had a great turn out. Conditions permitting we will carry on with these events between Elbow Cay and Guana Cay in the coming months. We will also be running trials to select our International team for 2010, and in preperation for NSSA competitions in the US.

'Cold Water' Classic pt.II this weekend in Hope Town! Sunday 14th of March, 2010.

Surf Clinics - SAB hopes to begin surf clinics for local children in the Abacos in early 2010, but will require volunteers!

Out Island Surf Trips - Visiting other Out Islands will give us an opportunity to surf new breaks and also experience the unique culture of individual Bahamian Islands. It will also enable us to promote SAB nationally and recruit new Bahamian talent wherever we may find it. Any Bahamians who surf and would like more information please get in touch!

Caribbean Surf Tour 2010 - Events are held in Jamaica, Trinidad and Barbados. Attending these contests will get the Bahamas back in touch with our Caribbean brothers and sisters, giving us all an opportunity to come together in doing what we love.

Billabong ISA World Surfing Games 2010 - The pinnacle of the World Surfing Calendar will be held this year in Punta Hermosa, Lima, Peru, from the 21-29th October.

This may be an auspicious time for our surfers as the last competition (prior to the 2009 ISA World Games) we attended was the 2006 Pan-American Surfing Games also in Lima where we attained 7th place overall. Having previous experience here will certainly be advantageous.

With your help and support we will make these goals possible and bring new and continued awareness of Bahamian Surfing locally, nationally and internationally!
